As Autumn settles over McLaren Vale and the cooler months take hold, we’re already looking ahead to brighter days. In just six months, when Spring returns and the valley begins to warm, Tatachilla Estate will reopen its lawns and historic winery for a new season of relaxed Saturday gatherings.

Launching this Spring, Never on Sunday® will once again bring together everything people love about South Australia — generous hospitality, regional produce, live music, and the unmistakable charm of our 1913 heritage estate. It’s the perfect way to welcome the warmer weather back to McLaren Vale.

Set among century‑old buildings and sweeping lawns, Never on Sunday transforms the estate into a laid‑back haven for wine lovers. Guests can stretch out beneath the towering Norfolk pines, find a sunny patch on the grass, or wander through the historic winery as live music drifts through the air.

“We’ve always wanted to create an experience that honours the estate’s past while celebrating the people who make McLaren Vale so special,” says event coordinator Kassandra Girolamo. “There’s something magical about sharing good wine and good company in a place that has stood unchanged for more than a century.”

Local flavours take centre stage, with paella, tapas, cheese boards, and regional produce shaping the food offering each week. A rotating lineup of musicians brings soulful, easygoing energy to the afternoons, easing guests into golden Spring evenings.

To mark the return of the series, Tatachilla Estate will re‑release the Never on Sunday® wine collection — a range crafted for warm days, long tables, and shared moments. From bold reds to bright, fruit‑forward summer styles, the collection captures the relaxed spirit of the event. A crowd favourite is the Never on Sunday Rosé — crisp, refreshing, and made for Spring afternoons outdoors.

As the sun sets, the estate shifts into a more vibrant rhythm. Saturday nights feature a curated lineup of local bands and singer‑songwriters, transforming the historic winery into an intimate live‑music venue. These evening sessions are ticketed to keep the experience comfortable and immersive for all who attend.

The name Never on Sunday® was inspired by a Greek night once held at the estate, where a classic 1960s song captured the mood of the evening. The sentiment — a playful nod to love, timing, and shared moments — resonated with the team and became the heart of the event’s identity.

“We want people to feel how lucky we are to have a place like this in South Australia’s backyard,” Kassandra says. “It’s about slowing down, appreciating the estate’s authenticity, and enjoying the simple things that bring people together.”

Never on Sunday® returns Spring 2026, with daytime sessions from 11am and evening events from 6pm.
